This pretty much says it all about sandboarding! My new friends, Karina, Gigi and Olenka, although we hadn’t met yet, on top of the world, or at least a sand dune.
You could find me, if you looked very hard, by the lagoon.

Well, maybe not. This doesn’t give much of an idea about the height of the dune – just take a look at the dune on the other side of the lagoon, and that’s about how tall this side was. I was pretty impressed that these young ladies and others from our tour bus were willing to give it a go in shorts. I might have wanted a little something on my legs, but I guess they’re braver than I am.
Here’s a shot of an intrepid soul. Would you believe it if I told you that was me? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
So the lagoon was very picturesque, but actually quite boring after 15 minutes or so, because absolutely nothing was open for business except two girls selling ice creams. The surrounding buildings were colorful, and it was good people watching, which I’m getting very skilled at doing. Too bad I can’t make a living that way. I think I was looking forward to the pisco tasting a little too much to concentrate on relaxing by the water.
Sandboarding was followed by a tour of a vineyard and then a pisco tasting. I think I talked about the pisco adventure already; as I said, the days have gotten mixed up in my mind. I’ll tell you about the bus ride back and the next day’s adventure when I sit down to write again.
